Call for city council to urgently review Litter Management Plan

Galway Bay FM 4 August 2021 print Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway City Council is being urged to urgently review its Litter Management Plan after a survey found Salthill is considerably littered. Councillor John Connolly is reacting to an IBAL costal litter survey which gave Salthill Beach, Dog’s Bay in Connemara and Loughrea Lake the second lowest designation for cleanliness. He points out this is particularly disappointing given a previous survey two years ago recognised Salthill as being of an excellent standard. He also further notes the latest survey recognised there was an increase in the number of clean beaches and harbours nationwide in the past two years.
