Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine) presented a check Friday to help rebuild and expand a 55-year-old Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue training center into a state-of-the-art regional facility.
The city agreed to halt its longstanding arrangement with Allied Universal on May 18 and consider negotiating with Huntington Beach for temporary jail services.
The recent work, which included the installation of a monument sign, 1,130-foot security fence, new sidewalks and perimeter landscaping is part of a master plan approved in 2019.
