Mayesville woman killed in wreck with Georgia Power truck
A wreck in Banks County Monday claimed the life of a Mayesville woman and critically injured another.
State Troopers say 77-year-old Lois Snipes died when she pulled into the path of a Georgia Power truck. It happened around 4:26 p.m. on May 3 at the intersection of Greasy Creek Street at Yonah Homer Road.
Troopers with Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville investigated the crash. They say Snipes was driving a Ford F150 north on Greasy Creek Street and failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign. At the intersection, she turned in front of the eastbound Freightliner M2.
