By Pam Hersh Like a good neighbor, the Arts Council of Princeton is there – to re-phrase a certain insurance company slogan. During these past 13 months, the Arts Council of Princeton (ACP), located only a block from my apartment, has been a great neighbor to me – and to thousands of others – by providing invaluable assurance that smiling (albeit behind a mask) is still possible. And key to this assurance policy has been a wall, not a border wall of concrete and electronics to keep people out, but rather an outdoor picture wall of artistic design and inspiring messaging to draw people in.

Dashield honored on retirement as Princeton administrator Dashield honored on retirement as Princeton administrator If Princeton Municipal Administrator Marc Dashield thought he could retire very quietly, he was sadly mistaken when current and former Princeton Council members and municipal staff gathered online to send him off into the next chapter of his life. Dashield, whose retirement took effect April 1, was praised for his good nature and calm presence by well-wishers that also included community members at the March 30 Zoom meeting. Former Mayor Liz Lempert was the first of many to compliment and thank Dashield for his nearly six years of service in Princeton’s top administrative job. Neighbors from the historic Bank Street area next to the property objected to the size and scale of the project on Monday night.  Near the end of the meeting, Michael LaPlace, the town’s planner, told the zoning board he thought the positives of the project outweigh the negatives. “This is an overwhelmingly positive project for the municipality,” he said, adding that the developer is willing to work with the neighborhood.
