Linking the past and future
Its design carries the hallmarks of BMW’s historic two-door models and the brand’s new design language. It is longer and wider than its predecessor while still offering a distinctly sportier stance than the typical 3 Series.
The most distinctive change it’s the larger, vertically emphasized BMW kidney grille, now angled forwards and extending down almost to the lower edge of the front apron. The BMW 4 Series Coupe is now here
DISCERNING MOTORISTS who seek a heightened level of car athleticism and exclusivity are in for a treat, as SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. the country’s official importer and distributor of BMW vehicles recently launched the much-anticipated BMW 4 Series Coupe in the Philippines. The 4 Series is the sister model of BMW’s highly popular 3 Series; also manufactured in Munich but set apart via its knack for greater sporting ability and driving exclusivity.
The new BMW 4 Series Coupe now takes a significant design departure from the 3 Series characterized by its controversially large, front kidney grille (which is inspired by the 1930s BMW 328) in order to better distinguish the two models from each other. It is now locally available in two variants: the 420i Model Advantage and the 420i M Sport.
2020 brought the first ever integration between the Android Auto and BMW cars. Not only did BMW announce the support for Android Auto, but they went all out and included wireless connections to the car’s infotainment system at no extra cost. The best part is that some of the smartphone’s functions and some apps are integrated in the car’s instrument cluster and head-up display. BMW goes for more PHEVs in 3 Series & 5 Series
BMW is expanding its plug-in hybrid range for the 3 Series and 5 Series by two additional models each from March. The 320e and 520e will be added to the saloon portfolio and Touring versions of both model series. In Germany, prices will range between 47,450 and 55,900 euros before subsidies.
In the BMW 3 Series, there will thus be four PHEV models to choose from in future, three of which will also be optionally available with BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The BMW 5 Series will then comprise five PHEV models, three of which will have all-wheel drive as standard or as an option.
