Hosted by the RSL Lismore Sub-Branch, the dawn service was a short but moving ceremony held ahead of the services at North Lismore and the main service at 9am. In the crisp autumn air, past and present members of all the armed services, as well as emergency services, community groups, family and friends gathered at the cenotaph outside the Lismore Memorial Baths. 41st Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Susana Fernandez attended with senior officers. Her battalion also provided the catafalque party under instruction from Cpl Paul Kohlhagen.

Subscriber only There s no doubt we have a lifelong love of sport on the Northern Rivers and the launch of 2021 Masters games on Thursday reinforced just how keen we are. When the Lismore Workers Club hosted the launch of the 12th biannual Lismore Workers Masters Games, the room was packed (in a socially distant manner) with sporting greats including cricket doyen Lynne Larson. Masters Games Organising Committee Chairman Matt Barlow said Lismore has successfully hosted the event since 1999. This year the Masters Games will be one of the best the region has prepared and a great way for participants to enjoy sport and the social aspect after what has been a tough year for sport surrounding COVID-19, he said.

The Lismore RSL sub-branch has revealed their plans for 2021 Anzac Day commemorations but not without some COVID-19 changes.
The Lismore sub-branch had originally withheld its full schedule due to “the ever-changing NSW Health Directives”.
However, preparations for April 25 are now full steam ahead with some new restrictions, according to secretary Wilson McClelland.
QR codes will be sent to participants partaking in marches and commemorative services and the codes will also be placed in and around the march assembly area and route. There will be sign in books available for those who cannot access the QR code and schools have been requested to keep a roll of marches.
