163 WATERBURY – Robert “Bob” W. Dews, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at his home in Waterbury. Born on Sept. 24, 1949, in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Erminia (Cimaglia) Dews of Thomaston. He attended Thomaston High School and graduated from Purdue University. Bob had a long career in human resource management. Pursuing his love of golf, upon semi-retirement, worked at Southington Country Club. For the last 36 years, without ever missing a beat, he and his golf buddies, Pete Allvin, Bill Wisk Sr. and Bill Wisk Jr.and others who joined in each year annually traveled to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf. Bob was also a member of several golf leagues over the years including Sam the Clam’s and Apple Valley. He was past president of the Southington Country Club Men’s Association.
