On the heels of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) recent Executive Order, comprehensive PBM reform legislation has been introduced in Florida. SB 1550 was introduced by Sen. Jason Bradeur and referred to the Health Policy and Fiscal Policy Committees. HB 1509 was introduced by Rep. Linda Chaney.
After lawmakers passed a 15-week limit last year, the Florida House on Thursday started moving forward with a proposal that would prevent abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.
Bill sponsor Rep. Jenna Persons-Mulicka says the bill “promotes life” and supports families. Bill opponent Rep. Christine Hunschofsky describes it as a “de facto abortion ban.” A Senate panel considers the bill Monday.
