Lafourche Parish Council appoints interim constable for Raceland area
LeBouef was the husband of incumbent Dwain LeBouef, who died March 20.
Constables serve eviction notices and paperwork for small claims. They serve as the officer for the justice of the peace court, in this case in Lafourche s District 2.
Holly LeBouef was arrested in 2017 after police said she stole tens of thousands of dollars from the National Barrel Horse Association while serving as the local district president. The charges are still pending, according to the Lafourche District Attorney s Office.
She also ran for the District 5 Parish Council seat in 2016, losing to James Bourgeois by a 57-43 margin.
