Anthony Louis Aquaro, the super senior married to the former Gloria Polizzi the love of his life for 77 years, has officially rounded the century mark.
Born in Brooklyn on Feb. 27, 1921, the brand new centenarian had excelled in baseball, and many believe Anthony could have gone pro had he not chosen to enlist in the military.

There’s a story that says Anthony was so elated after winning a baseball game, it was only then he mustered up the courage to walk up to Gloria at a corner store and ask her for a kiss.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Robert Funaro, who played Eugene Pontecorvo on “The Sopranos,” says there is nothing better than a home-cooked meal, so the Staten Island actor is teaching people some of his family’s classic recipes.
Funaro, who hails from New Dorp, has partnered with ChefsFeed and Andrew Jedlicka, founder and CEO of the Andrew Frank Group, for a series of virtual cooking classes that give viewers step-by-step instructions on how to create Italian recipes passed down from Funaro’s mother.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Deacon Alfred J. Thompson, a spiritual leader and faithful servant of God at both Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Tompkinsville and the Church of the Holy Child in Eltingville, died peacefully Dec. 17 in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince’s Bay, after a bout with pneumonia. His age was 92.
