The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf faced criticism from party cadres over awarding of Senate tickets due to which it failed to finalise the list of candidates despite Monday being the last day for the submission of nomination papers with the ECP.
Taking notice of the matter, Prime Minister Imran Khan convened an emergency meeting of the parliamentary committee on Monday.
During the meeting, Premier Imran hinted at a change in tickets and said they “will be given on merit”.

Amid the ongoing anti-federal-government campaign by the opposition parties, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has planned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit next month to Sindh.
The PM is expected to announce mega development projects and criticise the provincial government performance in his expected visit. Sources of the PTI Sindh chapter told The News that the PM in his next month s visit to Sindh would visit districts of rural parts of the province to announce mega development projects and meet leaders of the PTI’s coalition partners, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Grand Democratic Alliance, to forge a strategy to win maximum seats of Senate from Sindh.

KARACHI: As the Opposition ups the ante against the federal government, the PTI has planned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Sindh in the next month to strengthen the alliance with coalition partners ahead of the Senate polls.
During the visit, PM Imran is expected to announce mega-development projects and criticise the PPP government for its performance in the province.
