Its already been a busy day on the Election Campaign trail, with less than five weeks until the general election. The conservatives have unveiled plans to train more gps while labour and liberal democrats are focussing on better support for childcare. Heres our Political Correspondent iain watson. Its enough to raise your blood pressure. You know what its like. Try to get a non urgent appointment with your doctor and you can wait days, sometimes more than a week. Today, the conservatives promised an injection of more gps into the Health Service in england by 2025. The package will deliver 6000 more doctors in primary care and that will lead to 50 million more appointments. I know how frustrating it is when you cannot get a gp appointment fast enough. But hang on a minute what happened to the 5000 gps the conservatives promised at the 2015 election . That target has not been reached. The reality will be seeing these delivered on.
