NEW LENOX, IL A small plane landed on Interstate 355 near New Lenox Thursday, according to Illinois State Police. Police told Patch a small, white Beechcraft aircraft made an emergency landing due to mechanical issues and touched down in the southbound lanes of I-355.
According to police, the pilot and three passengers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Several lanes of traffic are blocked in both directions, according to the Illinois Tollway. Police said the two left lanes on southbound I-355 are closed for the investigation, which is in its infancy.

NEW LENOX, Ill. - A small plane made an emergency landing on I-355 Thursday morning near New Lenox.
The small white Beechcraft plane landed in the southbound lanes of I-355 due to unknown mechanical issues, Illinois State Police said.
Four passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the landing.
The passengers were taken to Silver Cross Hospital.
The plane took off from Lewis University Airport. The plane was in the air for about five minutes, according to FlightAware, which tracks flights.
Two southbound lanes of I-355 are closed for the investigation.
