Days after a Tulsa judge struck down a legal path to restitution for the survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, experts said the financial impact of the event are still being felt today.

Attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons, who previously has praised Judge Caroline Wall for allowing the case to proceed, called the ruling “perfunctory, unfounded, and nonsensical.”
Besides the claims for damages from the massacre, the lawsuit also alleged a continuing pattern of exploitation of the Greenwood neighborhood by the defendants.
