Residents, faith leaders, & harm reduction advocates rally in support of Atlantic City syringe access program
July 6, 2021 (Atlantic City, NJ) This afternoon, local leaders joined harm reduction advocates, faith leaders, and community members to celebrate the successes of Atlantic City’s syringe access program called the Oasis Drop-In and demand that it remain permanently open and accessible. This rally comes two weeks after the Atlantic City Council introduced an ordinance to repeal the city’s lifesaving syringe service program, which will be put to its final vote on July 21.

Subscriber only Southeast Queensland could be hit with water restrictions later this year despite some dams, particularly on the Sunshine Coast, being full. Unitywater has urged residents to restrict their usage in all of southeast Queensland despite dams, such as Wappa in Yandina, sitting at 100.5 per cent. Communications and engagement manager Jana Dore said the SEQ water grid supplied water to everyone on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. While we have some dams that are full or close to full we still have some dry areas, she said. There s little rain ahead and it s not like our summer months and we can t always rely on the rain.

Allan Marley Lee, AKA Boppa, died on April 20, 2021, at the age of 97. Boppa was a proud Navy Veteran, who after his time in service, drove for Thomas Industries for 30 + years. During Boppaâs long life, he enjoyed golfing, traveling to California and Canada, bowling and drinking his boxed wine. He also enjoyed making sure all the little birds and squirrels were fed no matter where he was. Many in the community knew him as Santa Clause, as he dressed up for events during the holidays to bring happiness and cheer to all. However, the deed he took most pleasure in was being stubborn, giving people a hard time in a playful way, while making all those around him laugh. He never hesitated to share his life lessons and philosophies, which will be carried on by everyone he taught, guided, and touched in such a significant way. The most extraordinary role he played during his life was being the earthly rock for his family
