Health officials prepare for vaccine approval for ages 12 through 15

GALLATIN COUNTY â Itâs May, and the countryâs in a much better position with vaccine distribution than we were a few months ago, and we ll likely soon be able to vaccinate some children under the age of 16.
âThereâs been recent release from the literature and from Pfizer that thereâs soon to be FDA approval for the age group of 12 to 15-year-olds,â said Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Annie Hansen.
Up until this point, only people 16 and older have been approved, but soon that will extend to those as young as 12-years-old with the Pfizer vaccine.

This year, the residents are happy the ceremonial aspects of the day will be a little more normal after COVID-19 restrictions have eased since 2020. Two remarkable veterans living at the aged care facility share their stories about their service. Leslie Atkinson was 12 years old when World War Two began. The 94-year-old had grown up in London and was evacuated to the country area of England to avoid the German bombing of buildings at the time, known as The Blitz.
