Civil service leaders share the career tips that helped them up the ladder

There’s an awful lot of career advice around – but how to know whether it’s any good? We asked 12 leading national officials to name the tips they found most useful in their own journey to the top. After all, it worked for them: we hope you find their answers helpful in the year to come
Sometimes we all need some advice – perhaps on how to support colleagues, understand your next career move, dig yourself out of a professional rut or boost your self-confidence.
This was even though some solutions were as novel as the pathogen itself - some vaccine candidates were being developed with new technologies that have not been used in any other vaccines on the market.
The data was limited, so risks had to be taken and bets made after careful analysis of available information. They all paid off on Monday night (Dec 21), when Singapore became the first nation in Asia to receive doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. This, just weeks after Britain and the United States received theirs.
Professor Benjamin Seet, who oversees the expert panel that provides the Singapore Government with advice on Covid-19 therapeutics and vaccines, said during a press conference on Monday that advance purchase agreements hinged upon many factors, including safety and availability.

Conor White Wins Canada Weekly Zwift Race
Conor White recently competed in the Cycling Canada Weekly Zwift race.
The race covered the Watopia – Reverse Figure 8 Course, with White winning the Men’s A Division race.
White and American Leo Yip had the fastest time of 38.20, with White earning the first-place finish.
Warren Muir, the Canadian National Champion of the virtual cycling world, finished third clocking 38.21.
