intellectually, with sympathy to their point of view. chris, i ve been critical of the president on this one for not being out more in front of what the law was that underlined the drone strikes and explaining that to the american people, sharing the underlying legal analysis with the congress. but i think he sees the initiative today. he spoke, i think, across the board to the entire political spectrum. but i think he really made the case to his base and to the left that this was a just war, this was a war of proportion, this was a war of self-defense and it was a war that was being waged on legal grounds. that s a very important message in the united states. it s also a critical message to our allies and to people around the world. you both have a similar mindset i think, maybe a notch or two to the president s left which i like for this purpose of this conversation. let s take these issues. the use of drones. the president s defense was very logical, as i said, and very clear. h
