Wicked Local
It was a jubilant night at Leary Field as the Class of 2021 gathered together and received their diplomas in person - unlike last year where graduates received them through car windows during the school s first Rolling Rally.
In accordance with guidance from local and state health officials, graduation on Leary field still looked different from pre-pandemic years. Graduates and their pre-registered guests were seated together on the field in pods to maintain social distance from other groups.
School Superintendent Peter Light thanked the students families for their support through the many changes the pandemic has brought. He called the students absolutely amazing, alluding to their resiliency over the last couple of years. He also acknowledged that although senior year may not have been what they expected it to be, things are looking brighter.
