nuclear treaty because of ongoing american support for ukraine. david asking president biden in warsaw about putin s decision. he said that russia is suspending participation, cooperation in the nuclear treaty with the united states. what s your message to putin on that? it s a big mistake to do that. not very responsible. and but i don t read into that that he s thinking of using nuclear weapons or anything like that. reporter: and tonight, the u.s. saying it will introduce a new sanctions package against russia tomorrow that will also include chinese companies accused of evading sanctions on russia. the white house concerned china will provide lethal military aid to russia. putin announcing chinese leader xi will visit russia, possibly in the spring, as he tries to gain support for the war. and ian pannell with us from ukraine tonight. and ian, i know vladimir putin saying that china, the president, president xi will be visiting russia, perhaps as herbally as this spring. t
and unapologetic about the u.s. position. the u.s. through an official at least is saying that secretary blinken did still leave the door open for a discussion between president biden and chinese leader xi, but at this point no time table as to even if this would occur. interesting. and then on the topic of ukraine, china is talking about some form of peace plan, but then as we heard earlier from nic, the u.s. is considering ramping up assistance to russia. reporter: right. and u.s. says it is based off intelligence that, yes, china is helping russia build its arsenal and its intelligence that it has shared with its allies within the european union. and is really portraying china at least publicly saying that it
nefarious about that. yet at the same time we are seeing, perhaps, some signals that there is room for diplomacy. for example, the state department spokesperson said that secretary blinken in his meeting did keep the door open to a possible conversation between president biden and chinese leader xi. so we are just going to have to see how this unfolds. but i think neither side wants this to be the big sticking point in a much broader discussion. there are serious political discussions that need to be had in this relationship as well as economic discussions, especially as china reopens and the united states and the world economy really try to regain their footing. regain their footing. as said, that comes along with re-emerging on the world stage when yi is on his way to russia in the coming days. mark stewart, nic robertson, i want to thank you both. we re learning more about
would be to establish these lines, so something like this balloon swaying off path or now accused of something more nefarious at least by the u.s., there would have been a way to perhaps mitigate that. so at this point no roadmap on that front. with that said, there has been some room left for encouragement. we did hear from a u.s. official who said that the door is still open, this is something that blinken secretary blinken made known to his chinese counterpart, that the door is still open for discussion between chinese leader xi and president biden. so perhaps that s something we could see in the future. but at this moment neither side really seems to budge. china is being very resolute, the united states being unapologetic and direct that china did cross the line and did do something nefarious. we will have to see in the weeks and months ahead if there is more conversation. obviously china and the u.s. know there is more than just
communist party s rule in a very long time. and an embarrassing affront to its leader xi. will this change anything? the communist party is going to coerce protestors but right now in china people are really, really angry, and it s not just the zero covid rules that were lifted in december. it s the way the party has been handling things. it s the economic downturn, because the economy in reality is contracting. the plunge in property prices, that s the reason why you had those spontaneous protests at the end of november. there was no organization, no leadership, no coordination, but they broke out across the country because people were thinking the same way. so they reacted the same way when they heard the news of that fire on november 24. jason: thank you so much for joining us on the ingraham angle. we really do appreciate it. all right. the worst media offenders of the week, the ingraham angle has got its eyes on you. governor mike huckabee and davis bring you the tape you
