Posted on Vermont: Suppressor Hunting Legislation Introduced, NRA-ILA Vermont Flag Bricks U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- On January 7th, Rep. George Till (D-Chittenden) introduced legislation that seeks to legalize the use of suppressors while hunting in the state of Vermont. Titled the Hearing Protection Act, House Bill 5  has been referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources, Fish, and Wildlife. In addition to H. 5, Rep. Patrick Brennan (R-Chittenden) has also submitted a similar bill, although it has not yet been assigned a bill number. Suppressors are legal to own in 42 states. Since 2011, three states, including Vermont, have legalized suppressor ownership, and 18 states have legalized suppressor hunting. Vermont and Connecticut are the only two states that allow civilians to own suppressors, but do not allow their use in the field.
