With a strong faith in God and family devotion, Dominic’s Ristorante Italiano in Cypress discovered they can weather any storm together.
Family-owned and operated, the restaurant celebrates their 30th anniversary this year, remaining open during the worst of COVID-19 through teamwork, creative innovation, and a mother’s heart.
“It was a scary time, not knowing how we would sustain such a blow as well as being able to take care of our staff while trying to keep the doors open,” said General Manager Lisa Cisneros, the eldest daughter of owner Angela Cesario. “We immediately cut down on our staff, putting them on leave, hoping to just be able to have the family and a few key employees [in order] to help cut costs while anticipating a huge drop in sales. But [we] had to call them all back within the first few days once we realized the demand was still here.”

The Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles’s Griffith Park brings the past to life with the vision of making history relevant in today’s tumultuous times.
The whole idea of the museum being alive among people is the aspiration and accomplishment that President and CEO W. Richard West, Jr., has held throughout his nearly 10-year tenure. Though retiring at the end of June, he still clearly sees this as central to the museum’s future.
Pictured are lifelong bald eagle mates Jackie and Shadow, who reside in Big Bear Valley and are expecting the “pip” of two eaglets on March 15th. The public can view them 24/7 via live webcam on YouTube thanks to the Friends of Big Bear Valley.

High in the San Bernardino Mountains atop a 155-foot pine tree overlooking Big Bear Lake is the love story of two bald eagles visible live online from anywhere, anytime.
Thanks to a live webcam operating 24 hours, 7 days a week by the Friends of Big Bear Valley, viewers from all over can tune in to see “Jackie,” and her lifelong mate, “Shadow” as they brave the elements and wilderness while anticipating offspring. Both eagles and viewers anxiously await the two eaglets’ arrival, due to “pip” or chip out of their shells on March 15.
On display and viewable both in person and online at the New England Air Museum in Connecticut is the B-29 aircraft bomber used by the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II. More than 115 aircraft are viewable at the museum and online at their website.

The romantic fascination of flight is preserved for future generations in person and online at the New England Air Museum (NEAM).
“I am not a pilot, but I am fascinated with all things that fly,” said Director of Advancement and External Affairs Ron Katz, who works at the NAEM and has a background in supporting nonprofit organizations that provide STEM related education.

Budding paleontologists can now learn virtually about the only active Ice Age urban fossil site in the world that is located at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.
“It is a very dynamic place,” said Agnes Novie, coordinator, school programs for 10 years at the La Brea Tar Pits. “It is a pretty special place to be.”
