Deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein gave something of a preview of the report today during a private lunch in washington. Three people who were present told Bloomberg Rosenstein said, quote, muellers report describes russian cybercrimes during the 2016 election. Times, and really according to what we have all been reporting for some time, there have been several elements of this deal that were already on the table. For example, take this idea that the u. S. Will now work with mexico to keep Asylum Seekers in mexico while their claims are adjudicated. Kirstjen nielsen announced that all the way back in december, in a public hearing before a house committee. And then theres also an element of the deal that is where the mexicans are going to Deploy National Guard troops throughout mexico to interdict some of these migrants as theyre coming up to the u. S. Southern border. That part of the deal was also worked out in talks with the former Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen over the last several months. Though it is true that in this deal, the numbers that were talking about are higher than they had talked about before, but mexico had basically already agreed to that. Polls show senator Kamala Harris and elizabeth warren, they are surging. It is those senators who appear to have the momentum in the 2020 race. This cnn poll was conducted after the first debates. Thats where harris had her breakout moment, challenging joe biden about bussing. 41 of democrats and democratic leaning independents say that harris did the best job in the debates, and 30 of potential democratic voters now say harris is the candidate that they most want to hear more about. While the cleanup effort continued stemming from the damage done when the president said of course hed accept dirt on political opponents from a foreign power, todays news was more dominated by an attack by the president on a very high value target. Don mcgahn, who has returned to private practice after serving as Trumps White House counsel. He knows a thing or two because he saw a thing or two in that job. His testimony to mueller was so valuable he was quoted in the Mueller Report more than any other witness and emerged really as one of the reports defacto narrators after testifying for over 30 hours about what he witnessed inside the trump white house. Tomorrow. First, breaking news out of hawaii overnight. A small plane has crashed during a skydiving trip killing all nine people on board. Witnesses say the plane hit a fence and then burst into flames on the runway. Cnns natasha chen joins us now. What do we know so far . This is so tragic. You know these people were probably there to have fun, and it ended so badly. This happened about 6 30 p. M. Local time, so just after midnight eastern time. We know its a king air twin engine plane that crashed. You see the map there at Dillingham Airport on the north shore of oahu, a 35 mile drive northwest of honolulu. There you see video of the wreckage there. Its a 50 by 50 foot debris field were told. The fire chief said it was a skydiving excursion and they tried to extinguish the flames when firefighters got there, but the whole thing was engulfed. Witnesses as you said saw that plane coming inbound and hit the fence line away from the runway. We dont know what caused it. The faa is taking
