A cluster of wildfires is scorching the Texas Panhandle. One of the blazes has grown into one of the largest in state history. An 83-year-old grandmother from the tiny town of Stinnett was the lone confirmed fatality Wednesday. Flames have blackened the landscape across a vast stretch of small towns and cattle ranches. Authorities warn that the damage to communities on the high plains could be extensive. The largest fire has expanded to nearly 1,300 square miles. It has jumped into parts of neighboring Oklahoma. Texas A&M Forest Service says the flames are only about 3% contained.
