Hes charged with assault with a Deadly Weapon and assault on a Police Officer while armed. Walked through the screening area that anyone who wants to go inside has to go through first and they say he stopped and pulled out what appeared to be a gun and point today at officers, and at least one officer fired the gun back and hit the suspect identified as larry dawson and taken into surgery. Last we heard, his condition is unknown. Police say they recovered the suspects car on Capitol Grounds but until recently, they were not publically identifying him but they said he is someone known to Capitol Police and he was a man who was disruptive at a hearing last fall, a house congressional hearing and they detained him at that time, and on a day like today, there were a lot of visitors at the capitol, and one visitor described all the chaos happening inside.
