Students in a Laois secondary school have raised a huge €4,000 to help a local Autism support group, as well as two deserving Leaving Cert students heading off to university.
Portlaoise College Parents Council had teamed up with Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) during the month of May and encouraged students, families and members of the community to participate in a 100K in May fundraiser, where participants either ran or walked 100KM during the month of May.
This Thursday April 29 there will be virtual rainbows across all of Laois and Offaly, as communities, businesses and schools do their bit for the first Rainbow .

A Portlaoise second and third level college has joined with a Laois Offaly autism charity to do a 100k in May challenge.
Portlaoise College has backed the fitness challenge to support Laois Offaly Families for Autism, and also raise money for their own school.
The school has today launched a 100k in May fundraiser.
Sponsorship cards are available from the school office. All proceeds will be split evenly between Laois Offaly Families for Autism and the Portlaoise College Parents Council student bursary fund for 3rd level education.

A Laois and Offaly autism support group has revealed their plan for a big fundraiser later this April.
LOFFA (Laois Offaly Families for Autism) have launched their first annual RAINBOW DAY fundraiser, to take place on Thursday, April 29.
The registered charity was founded by parents to support families with autism.
They want everyone to put on their most colourful t-shirt that day, donate €1, and help raise awareness and much needed funds for LOFFA families.
