The UP Police had issued a fresh notice to Ashish Mishra, asking him to appear before it by 11 am Saturday, after he failed to appear for interrogation at 10 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court pulled up the UP government on Friday for not arresting Ashish Misra who allegedly ran his car over protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri last week.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has alleged that the Centre was increasingly resorting to violence to quell the farmers' protests, but assured that the peasants’ movement would continue to remain non-violent.
"If the killings were intentional, the law would take its own course. We must ask why a situation arose that the lynchings had to occur?” Rakesh Tikait asked.
