TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â A new farmers market in Fort Braden is making sure nearby neighbors don t have to drive 30 minutes or more to the nearest grocery store.
It s open the second Saturday every month, starting in March.
Local vendors can sell their products like eggs, vegetables and cheese for free to the people who need them the most. Coming together, surrounding ourselves with something good, where we are outside and we are safe and we re getting some vitamin D and we re interacting at a safe distance, said organizer Hannah Crow. So I really think this is going to be kind of crucial moving forward and it s going to be a healthy outlet for people during this time.

A 28-year-old Florida teacher described as a loving mother and wife was killed when the ATV she was driving struck a road embankment and rolled over, according to a report.
Megan Walker died from the injuries she sustained from the fatal accident that occurred on a wooded dirt trail on Blountstown Highway, near Lake Talquin, in Tallahassee, Florida, shortly after 11 p.m. on Jan. 9. According to police, Walker s ATV side-by-side rolled over after striking a road embankment. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene, and the ATV’s two other occupants, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. FWC announces virtual public meetings to review black crappie regulations
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will host 12 virtual conversations with stakeholders that will be conducted in place of traditional in-person meetings. The objective of the conversations will be to gather stakeholder input on current black crappie regulations. Each meeting will focus on state-wide opinions, as well as resource specific regulations.
The meetings will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. In order to participate, each person will need a computer with a camera and internet access or a smartphone or tablet with the Microsoft Teams App downloaded. A link will be emailed prior to the meeting and each participant will simply have to click the link to join the meeting. There will be 20 spots available for each meeting.
