JAMMU, Apr 10: Despite difficult situation created by deadly Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Common High Court of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh and District and Subordinate Courts have performed well as far as Case Clearance Rate (CCR) is concerned.
This can be gauged from the data furnished by Registrar General of the High Court to the Union Ministry of Law and Justice on the insistence of the Department Related Parliam-entary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievance, Law and Justice of the Rajya Sabha.

Says need to learn lesson from Uttarakhand glacial outburst

JAMMU, Mar 17: Stating that there is a need to learn lesson from recent glacial outburst at Chamoli in Uttarakhand, Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs has recommended immediate conduct of glaciological studies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh for better planning.
Moreover, the Parliamentary Panel has held excessive cutting of trees and use of dynamites for infrastructural projects responsible for weakening of hills and mountains and warned that this uncontrolled exercise may cause disasters in the coming years.

PULWAMA, Feb 24: Chief Justice of Common High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories, Justice Pankaj Mithal accompanied by Justice Ali Mohammad Magray today inaugurated renovated Munsif Court Complex at Pampore .
Principal District and Sessions Judge Pulwama, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani, Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer, SSP Awantipora, Registrar General, Jawad Ahmad, Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, members of Bar Association and others were present on the occasion.
Chief Justice was informed that the building has been constructed with Rs 95 lakh which is having facilities of courtroom, computer room, E-Court, advocate chamber, lock up and record room. It was also given out that the complex had been constructed over 10 kanal of land to accommodate the Court of Civil Judge, Munsif and Judicial Magistrate First Class.
