LACKAWAXEN TWP. - Mark Hughes reported at the Lackawaxen Township supervisors’ workshop, April 19, that there were approximately 850 participants in the annual Two Rivers Marathon, held on the last weekend in March. The event was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. He said that for 2022, he hopes to lessen the impact for residents along they route, on Route 590 and the Towpath Road.
Two constables helped with traffic control this year, which was a help. For next year, Hughes said he may rent safety cones to keep runners from the center of Towpath Road, and keep them on the Lackawaxen River side. Supervisor Michael Mancino said that the township would like that.
