This is kpix5 news. Wild, wild winds blasting the bay area, taking down trees and knocking out power. And good evening. Winds are gusting to more than 40 miles an hour in some spots. This was the scene a little over an hour ago as a tree toppled on to a house hitting a homeowner. You can see the homeowner is lucky. He is doing okay but he was taken to the hospital. And take a look at this. The nike store at the bay street mall in emeryville fell off of the building and on to the street. A couple cars damaged but nobody hurt. The wind is causing power problems, about 500 people were left in the dark after a tree hit a power line. The electricity went out on Treasure Island and a 5600 customers in San Francisco were out.
