A Michigan state senator at the center of election integrity bills told
The Kyle Olson Show this week the package is intended to “make it easier to vote and harder to cheat.”
Legislative Republicans have introduced a series of 39 bills in an attempt to address issues that arose during the counting process and actions by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson that were later ruled illegal by a state judge.
Michigan Court of Claims Chief Judge Christopher Murray held Benson violated the state’s Administrative Procedures Act when she arbitrarily made rules for how to analyze absentee ballots, a method of voting Democrats emphasized during the coronavirus pandemic.
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge (R) told
The Kyle Olson Show this week a group of attorneys general may take legal action against President Joe Biden’s executive order canceling the Keystone XL pipeline.
“President Biden’s decision to cancel the Keystone pipeline is canceling jobs, it’s canceling energy independence, it’s canceling money in Americans’ pocketbooks,” Rutledge said.
Rutledge said she spoke with Arkansans who were working on or were going to work on the pipeline.
“We had the Keystone pipeline being produced right here in central Arkansas,” she said. The pipe now lays dormant on the ground “and [is] not being put into place.”

A website Unlock Michigan has launched is spotlighting the tragic impact of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) ongoing coronavirus lockdown orders.
Fred Wszolek, a spokesman for Unlock Michigan, the group that organized a petition drive to repeal the governor’s emergency powers, told
The Kyle Olson Show this week that VictimsofWhitmer.com will ensure the stories of those harmed by Whitmer’s mandates will not be forgotten.
“We shouldn’t just judge the governor based on the numbers she wants us to judge her on,” Wszolek said, which are the number of positive cases and hospitalizations.
He argued “everything else” gets lost in that focus.

Thousands of student athletes, coaches, parents, and organizers rallied at the Michigan Capitol on Saturday for the ability to play school sports.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has banned winter contact sports, including basketball, hockey, wrestling, and competitive cheer, until “at least” February 21.
Let Them Play, a group organized by parent Jayme McElvany, organized the rally, which featured players giving first-hand accounts of the impact the governor’s restrictions have had:

A Michigan restaurant owner defying shutdown orders from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) administration told
The Kyle Olson Show this week that she is facing $30,000 in fines and legal fees as a result.
Amy Heikkinen, owner of Cafe Rosetta in Calumet, was recently taken to court by the state after she kept open her business. She said could not survive the ongoing coronavirus lockdown mandates.
“Sales were down 25-30 percent already,” she said, and with only take-out orders allowed, there was another 30 percent decline.
Her margin for profit, she said, was 10 to 15 percent, and “It was either we were going to close down then or close down later, so we decided to take a stand and fight for this.”
