The Syracuse Mets overcame a late deficit to beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 2-1, on Friday night. In his second start with Syracuse, Alex Sanabia was outstanding, putting together seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing six hits, walking two, and striking out two.
Syracuse (17-39) trailed Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 1-0, entering the top of the eighth inning. Reliever Braden Bristo recorded two quick outs for the RailRiders, but Patrick Mazeika came to the plate and blasted a game-tying solo home run to right-center field, tying the game, 1-1.
