Softball played two games against Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., winning the first 7-2 and losing the second 5-2.

(Julia Mullins | Collegian) The Hillsdale College softball team flew down to Dahlonega, Georgia, last weekend to play two dou­ble­headers against top Division II teams.  The Chargers split with the Uni­versity of West Florida, and lost both games to the Uni­versity of North Georgia, fin­ishing the weekend 1 – 3.  “We were very grateful for the oppor­tunity to play this weekend,” junior team captain and out­fielder Reagan Gen­siejewski said. “But this weekend doesn’t show what we can do as a team, and I think the rest of the season is going to be more reflective who Hillsdale softball actually is.” 

Chargers softball to open season in Ohio

(Julia Mullins | Collegian) The Hillsdale College softball team will begin its season today in Toledo, Ohio, with an exhi­bition game against Tiffin Uni­versity at 11 a.m. Head coach Kyle Gross said he has been forced to reschedule this game twice because of the oppo­nents’ can­ce­la­tions due to COVID-19.  “Hope­fully that’s not a theme for the season,” Gross said. “A team could be out any week due to COVID, so I think that will be one of the biggest chal­lenges, but we’re pre­pared to play. If we’re healthy and if there’s a healthy team and a safe venue to play, then we’re going to be there.”
