The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) wants the government to step up efforts at dealing with the issues of land guards, water pollution and sand winning in the country.
Doing that, it said, would help bring about peace, restore and protect the environment, as well as safeguard the health of the people.
The church said while in some parts of the country land guards were illegitimately taking lands and properties for which people had toiled, illegal mining and sand winning were degrading the environment and opening it up to both climate change and also health concerns.
The Chairperson of the Ga West Presbytery of the PCG, Rev. Daniel Kwasi Amoako Nyarko, made the appeal when he, in the company of other senior officials from the presbytery, paid a courtesy call on the management of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) in Accra last Thursday.

The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources will leverage the image of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GGCL) as a “big fish” in the media industry to take the national sanitation drive a notch higher.
The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Ms Cecilia Abena Dapaah, said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s quest to make Ghana and Accra the cleanest country and city in Africa was not a fluke, for which reason the ministry, which is leading the charge, would bring all on board and seek the right partnerships to drive the dream forward.

The first draw of the [email protected] Loyalty Promo has been held, with 70 winners receiving cash rewards.
At a ceremony in Accra yesterday, 70 winners, made up of 68 daily winners and two monthly winners for October, were rewarded with cash prizes.
The daily winners took away GH¢500 each, while each of the monthly winners received GH¢2,500.
Although there were prizes for November, there were no winners.

Participants need a minimum of 2,000 points to qualify for the monthly draws, and they would need a minimum of 100,000 points to get into the car draws.
