white house, including jared kushner. here s the lead. jared kushner s application for a top secret clearance was rejected by two career white house security specialists after an fbi background check raised concerns about potential foreign influence on him. but their supervisor overruled the recommendation and approved kushner s clearance. again, this is nbc reporting just from this past hour, citing two sources familiar with the matter. kushner s was one of at least 30 cases in which that supervisor overruled career security experts and approved a top secret clearance for incoming trump officials despite unfavorable information. the two sources said the number of rejections that were overruled was unprecedented and had happened only once in the three years preceding the arrival of that supervisor. and then he did it at least 30 times? who is this supervisor who keeps
hand picked by trump. those are the three people who are between the president and his waltlet and of course that buffer doesn t really exist in practice. we said hold on a second. if the saumdis bailed the kushners out of 666, a building in new york, people have said forever they can t do business with the saudis. they can t do business with china. they can because techniqcally jared says i m not in control of the money. the gop lacks the political kour courage to say this is an ethic s violation. it s about the running of government in a clean and honorable way. will that change this year? you re going to have the house i think taking out microscopes across the entire trump empire over the next year. i think the kushners are going to get swept up into that. house party all night long.
came under investigation in july 2016, the thing that got all this started before robert mueller was even appointed. we still don t know why that is, other than we know he travelled to russia for that dinner and was paid for it and sat next to vladimir putin back in 2015. so michael flynn was present throughout the campaign in key meetings where the trump team was outreaching with the russians. he was talking to the russian ambassador. he was with jared kushner in meeting with the russian ambassador. they tried to set up a back channel, kushner proposed it, through the russian embassy so that kushner says flynn could negotiate with the russians over syria. so he was carrying out a foreign policy before they took office of reproachment with the russians. the question we don t know is whether he was aware of any interactions over russian campaign interference, over hacked e-mails, over this social media manipulation we ve been hearing so much about in recent days. it stands to reason, ka
investigation because, first of all, they ve gotten all of the cooperation out of general flynn that they re going to get. so it doesn t really impact the nature of the assistance that he can provide. and i ll tell you, i think it got even more real for the roger stones and potentially even the don juniors and the kushners. when mike flynn can come on board as quickly and definitively as he did and provide so much information, at least inferentially, that assisted the special counsel s investigation, and yet he was just about to get whammed. instead of going out the front door a free man, judge sullivan was ready to take him out the back door to the jail. so i don t know. it s not ideal, and it didn t go according to plan. i don t know that it s at all damaging to the special counsel s investigation. i do want to revisit what michael flynn potentially was in the room for, what he potentially had to offer the special counsel.
