The new development has pushed the country’s death toll from the virus outbreak to 471, Department of Government Information said. Details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 56-year-old man from Kurunegala area – He was under medical care at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital at the time of his passing on Friday (February 26). COVID-19 infection and acute diabetes were recorded as the cause of death. 02. A 55-year-old man from Anuradhapura area – He has passed away at his home on Friday (February 26). The cause of death was recorded as acute complication in respiratory system due to COVID-19 infection.

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FIVE (05) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Monday (Feb. 22), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 450. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 33-year-old female from Duunagaha. She passed away while receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital on 20.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as acute diabetes and acute kidney infection with COVID-19. 02. An 82-year-old female from Nugegoda. She died on 19.02.2021 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia. 03. A 69-year-old male from Colombo 12. He died on admission to the Colombo General Hospital on 20.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning due to COVID-19 and urinary tract infection.

07 COVID-19 deaths on Sunday (14); Total fatalities rise to 397

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that seven (07) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Sunday (Feb. 14), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 397, the Department of Government Information said. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. An 85-year-old male from Gothatuwa. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid at a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to the IDH, where he died on 14.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia, blood posioning and a kidney disease. 02. A 72-year-old female from Angoda. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid at Colombo General Hospital and transferred to the Homgama Base Hospital, where she died on 14.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid shock due to blood poisoning, Covid pneumonia and complex kidney disease.
