A low-seat height version of the 790 Duke will be manufactured in China and could come here as a CKD unit
Ever since the KTM 790 Duke went off the shelves last year, enthusiasts have been awaiting its return. With the 890 Duke replacing the Scalpel in most foreign markets, speculations arose that India too might get the 889cc middleweight naked. Well, as it turns out, there’s still hope for the 790 Duke to return in the BS6 avatar. KTM has already launched the bike in China and a low seat height option will soon follow.
Reports in several auto portals have said that the KTM RC 390has been taken off the company’s Indian website while the dealers have also stopped taking booking for the same.

The 390 Dukeâs price has shot up by almost Rs 18,000 in the last six months!
When KTM made its debut in India almost a decade ago, it stole hearts not just with its naked motorcycles but also for being a great value-for-money proposition. The story is different now, though. Once touted to be the most affordable premium brand in India, the recent price hike has tossed the whole value-for-money idea out of the window. Here’s how the Duke range has been priced at the onset of the new financial year:

It is a brand new day, guys and guess what we ve got for you? A brand new set of spy shots, of course. Internet sleuths spotted a new KTM bike on test in India recently. Now, while we do know the test mule in question is decidedly a KTM RC bike, it is quite hard to see if it is the KTM RC 200 or the KTM RC 125. It must be noted that this is the first time this upcoming bike in India, i.e. the 2021 KTM RC model, has been spotted on a test run in India. But wait, why isn t the test mule being that of the 2021 KTM RC 390 not an option? That is because its prototypes have previously been spotted testing in Europe and those images show the bike with a convent
6-speed
The Duke makes its displacement advantage known in the best way possible as it manages to pack 13Nm more than the Triple R. There’s more than 80Nm available from 5,500rpm and it is present until it almost reaches the 10,000rpm mark. The 890 is surely going to be a firecracker, making for lightning getaways from traffic signals.
But the Triple R shouldn’t be that far off. The wider powerband and linear power delivery will help maximise the potential of every single cog of its six-speed gearbox. While the extra 3PS might not count for much in real world scenarios, it will be beneficial when you do venture out onto the track. And yes, we know that this is a spec comparison and we are supposed to compare the two spec-sheets but we cannot stay away from citing that the Street Triple R has probably the sweetest exhaust note in its class. No twin, or even an inline four, can come close to the triple howl it creates at almost all rpms.
