A Hamilton man has been found not criminally responsible for stabbing and killing a stranger who tried to help him renowned Niagara winemaker Paul Pender in early 2022. A judge found Bradley House's mental illness and delusions caused the stabbing.
On Oct. 30, defence attorney Beth Bromberg cross-examined forensic psychiatrist Dr. Gary Chaimowitz on the assessment he and his team did on Hamilton resident Bradley House, who has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Paul Pender. Pender was fatally stabbed outside of his Lake Erie cottage near Selkirk in February 2022.
