Kristen. important questions, kelly. and hopefully you will be able to get some of those to the president himself when he speaks. not clear he is going to take questions. phillip rucker i want to pick up on the politics of this. a recent poll about the citizenship question. this is a harvard university center for american political studies and harris poll which found that in fact 67% of all registered u.s. voters say the census should ask the citizenship question when the time comes. and take a look at this, phil. 88% of republicans. to what extent does the president win just by engaging in this fight? he is rallying his base, right? you know, engaging in the fight i think matters more than the outcome itself. to some respects, politically, because it s a fight that works so well for his base. it seems like a very straightforward question, right? of course, you would want to know are people citizens or not. and a lot of voters in the country don t quite get the nuance of the issue
