Aphuyemi down Proper V to lift Futsal championship

Kohima, Oct 9 (EMN): In a thrilling final encounter played out here at Reiphinyü Badze Vürie on Sunday, Aphuyemi FC Zunheboto trounced Proper V FC Mon 10 – 6 to clinch the 2nd Nagaland State Futsal championship. Aphuyemi FC remained unbeaten in the championship winning all the five matches in the tournament. In the first half, Toka Achumi scored five goals for Aphuyemi FC while Proper V FC managed to score a lone, thereby building up the pressure for Mon team. Even as Aphuyemi FC continued their goal scoring spree, their goalkeeper Homuka Yeputho stole the show by effectively blocking the rival players in their attempts to score. In the second half, Mon improved their goal scoring line but Aphuyemi FC with a huge goal margin dominated the game and sealed the fate of Proper V FC with a huge goal 10 -6  margin. Nagaland: Aphuyemi FC set up title clash with Proper V FC

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 8 (EMN): Aphuyemi FC, Zunheboto, and Proper V FC, Mon, won their respective semifinal matches of the 2nd Nagaland State Futsal Championship on Saturday to set up a title clash on October 9. The championship is organised by Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and hosted by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA). In the first semifinal match, Aphuyemi FC edged past Vanguard FC Tseminyu by 8-4. Both teams were equally poised with a scoreline of 4 – 4 till the last five minutes but Aphuyemi scored four more goals in the dying minutes to clinch the victory. Aphuyemi remains unbeaten in the tournament with four wins. In the second semifinal match, Proper V FC defeated Nimok Power FC, Phek, 12 – 4 to book the final berth. Finance secretary, AYO, Rocus Rino, was the match patron of the semifinal matches. 2nd Nagaland State Futsal championship underway

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 7 (EMN): The 2nd Nagaland State Futsal Championship, hosted by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and All India Football Federation (AIFF), got underway here at Reiphinyu Badze on Friday. Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Shanavas C, who graced the inaugural function as the special guest in his address said the Northeast region has a lot to contribute in the field of games and sports. The DC observed that people of mongoloid origin have are good in endurance and reflex games and that Naga people have natural talent. Shanavas advised the youths not to relax and sit back but to have utmost dedication and commitment towards their chosen profession. Eight teams to vie for 2nd Nagaland State Futsal Championship

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 6 (EMN): A total of eight teams will vie for the 2nd Nagaland State Futsal Championship in the three-day event to be held at Reiphinyu Badze, Vurie, Kohima. The championship is being hosted by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under aegis of Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and All India Football Federation (AIFF). Shanavas C, Deputy Commissioner and Kohima District Sports Council, will attend  the inaugural function as the special guest, wherein president of KDFA Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome will deliver the welcome address and greetings will be shared by K Neibou Sekhose, President of NFA.
