An investigating officer who is privy to the investigation told
The Standard that Hilda, a teacher at Bombaba Secondary School, had requested that they part and share the cost of their children’s upbringing. However, Mogaka is said to have insisted on having the two go through a legal process in ending their marriage. On the fateful day, three men reportedly arrived at their home, accosted Hilda and took her to the cereals store.

Joel Mogaka, the Seventh Day Adventist Church Pastor who was arrested on Friday morning in Kisii over the murder of his wife will be remain in custody for three more days.
The investigating officers Corporal William Bonuka filed a miscellaneous application before Ogembo Law Courts Chief Magistrate Denis Mikoyan to have the suspect detained for 14 days to allow DCI carry out further investigations.
Mogaka appeared in Court alongside his other accomplice; Fredrick Obure.

A former Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) pastor in Kenya on Thursday surrendered to the police after it emerged that he had an hand in the killing of his wife.
Joel Mogaka, 38, allegedly hired goons who attacked his wife identified as Esther Nyambusi, 32, within her compound moments after she arrived home from work.
Ms Nyambusi was a Secondary School teacher.

Mediamax Digital on phone that the pastor surrendered to the police on Thursday.
âHe surrendered himself to the police and he is being detained at Ogembo Police Station where he is assisting detectives with investigations,â he said.

Police in Kisii are holding a pastor who is suspected to have killed his wife in cold bold before transporting her body to the mortuary on Thursday night.
The deceased, Irine Nyakwara, a teacher at Bombaba Secondary School, was killed on Thursday at around 9pm.
According to Ogembo police boss, 45-year-old Joel Mogaka could have been in the company of others by the time the woman was killed and her body hurriedly taken to Christamarriane Hospital mortuary.
The hospital management sent an alert to Kisii Central Police Station after the suspect claimed the woman died after taking poison.
