Kluane First Nation has started building into alternative energy sources. The nation has a new turbine towering over Kluane Lake with biofuel and solar energy projects also in the works. Although it's not currently operational it is expected to be generating power for the residents of Burwash Landing by spring.

Celebrations are underway in Kluane First Nation on the 20th anniversary of it's land claim and self-government agreements with Canada. Along with those festivities, the Kluane First Nation is celebrating the release of the book "Kluane Lake Country People Speak Strong" which features stories of community elders.
