MISSOULA - After a 10-year-old died in a crash near Missoula and three teens died in a crash in Billings, Safe Kids Missoula is sharing some tips on how to make sure children are properly secured in the car.
In Montana, car crashes are the leading cause of death for children, and on top of that, only one-in-five car seats are properly secured. In the almost 3-years that I have been a technician, I have only checked one car seat that was installed correctly, Safe Kids Montana State Director Kira Huck said.
Huck added every parent should get their car seat checked by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician to ensure it is installed correctly. You can find a technician near you on the National CPS Website.
