On Wednesday afternoon, shortly after Joe Biden was inaugurated as president, Vice President Kamala Harris swore in three new members of the U.S. Senate, including the two Democratic winners of the recent special election in Georgia. For the first time in a decade, Democrats occupied the White House and controlled the U.S. House and Senate.
We think that’s a good thing for Washington - and for the country - after four years of mostly Republican rule.
So we mean this the most affirming way: Don’t mess this up, Democrats.

While my ’60s-era siblings couldn’t wait to open presents, my greatest holiday anticipation was my parents’ cocktail parties that filled our home during Christmas week. It was the best people-watching of the year: ladies with beehive hairdos and Cleopatra eye makeup, men in suede jackets and polished boots. Lots of shiny, happy people.

Fatburger Ghost Kitchen opens in Houston
California-based Fat Brands has launched in the Houston market. The company has opened a ghost kitchen at Cloud Kitchens’ Blodgett Food Hall, located at 2616 Blodgett St.
Fat Brands operates three delivery-only concepts, available via Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash and Grubhub, from the address including Fatburger, Buffalo’s Express, and Hurricane Grill & Wings.
TEENAGER Ben Milner was the toast of Prudhoe at the weekend. For the 18-year-old scored the goal which earned Prudhoe YC Seniors a slender victory over Tyne Valley rivals Hexham, keeping his side on top of the Division One table. North Carolina is just beginning to see the impact the Thanksgiving holiday may have had on the state s coronavirus numbers. In a press conference Tuesday, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen said that she believes the numbers the state has seen thus far are just the beginning.
