I want to send my sympathy this Mother’s Day, for the lives lost during the pandemic this last year, as well as in earlier years. I cannot see this Mother’s Day as anything but a day of mourning. The fact that I was able to share air with my only daughter, just last week, after so many months of socially distancing, now seems the greatest privilege of all. My heart goes out, as a single mother of one child, to all those who have lost loved ones.
We have been separated from each other. There is so little middle ground. Soft play centre Kidz City, in Sheerness, reopens as nursery amid coronavirus pandemic

A popular soft play centre that converted into a nursery so it could survive the coronavirus pandemic has opened its doors.
Kidz City in Sheerness, which also has various real-life role-play areas including a pretend play hairdressers, hospital and supermarket, had to shut its doors last March â two days after its first anniversary â due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Ten months on, the Bridge Road centre is now Ofsted approved and has reopened as a full day nursery.
