i ll shoot you. then the suspect charged. hi got towards my face right as i lost balance. i thought if he does attack me i ll have to use deadly force. just in the nick of time there s the sound of backup. the past several months we have shown a number of police encounter videos often showing very disturbing behavior on the part of law enforcement. several police officers who said to me these videos often do not properly capture the difficulties of making life-and-death decisions during interactions with suspect. what this video shows is a testament to that incredibly difficult task. it could have ended easily in death, and that is a testament to officer kidder s bravery and commitment to bringing the situation to a peaceful resolution. the question is, how do we create policing nationwide that produces more peaceful outcomes?
