Conservation groups in Sadani wards plant 38,433 natural trees
CONSERVATION groups in Sadani and Igombavanu wards in Mufindi District, Iringa Region have planted 38,433 natural trees in 109 water sources across six villages in effort sto restore the environment in the area.
WWF Monitoring and Evaluation Manager Matrida Simfukwe revealed this recently when speaking at the World Environment Day (WED) held at Utosi Village in Sadani Ward at the district level.
Simfukwe said that in commemoration of the day, the Care- WWF Alliance intends to join hands with other Tanzanians in helping to save the ecosystem by planting trees in water sources to refill water resources, and natural vegetation damaged by human activities.

THE European Union (EU) prides itself in dishing out to Tanzania more than Euro 263 million (equivalent to 738.5m/-) towards water, sanitation, energy and transport sectors over the years.

The remarks were given by the country’s EU Ambassador’s Manfredo Fanti at his residence in Dar es Salaam as he addressed editors and heads of media institutions mid this week.
He said the projects have brought positive results to Tanzanians including speeding up development activities.
