lake. so shocking that one of their own chris wright had been arrested and charged with killing wealthy businessman ken dolezsar. all the evidence that we obtained led up to chris wright being the triggerman. reporter: in the suv ken drove to his fatal morning meeting, for example. the killer used that vehicle to flee the scene. and when the cops found it and scoured the interior, they got a hit. chris dna. we had a dna result from the inside door handle of the suv. reporter: it was a tiny sample, not a perfect one, but it seemed to put chris in ken dolezsar s car driver s side which certainly helped the case. but it wasn t quite air tight, not yet. the murder weapon had not been found. yet they found an empty gun case in chris and bianca s apartment, but nothing to connect the case to the murder. and just about then
financial difficulties. the trustees who oversee the programs are asking them to act sooner rather than later. it s nuanced. it s made up of old age and survivors trust fund and insurance fund. trustees say in 2020 the cost of social security will exceed its income for the first time since 1992. they will have to dip into the reserve fund to make up the shortfall. the reserve fund is expected to last 16 years. congress responded to 1980s shortfall by increasing payroll tax collections and raising retirement age from 65 to 67. old able and retirement fund which makes payment to retirees or spouses or eligible children ofworkers expected to be depleted by 2024. that doesn t mean there won t be payments. without acts by congress
shattered. we re told by the gas rounds fired by police. the ones that finally ended this overnight standoff. the tense standoff between police s.w.a.t. units and a man suspected in the murder of a walnut creek woman lasted more than 19 hours. the suspect inside this mercedes. at one point even putting a sun shade across the front window. later he got out of the car hands up and then scrambled back inside when s.w.a.t. officers fired two nonlethal stun rounds at him. finally, the suspect dropped what appeared to be a hand gun out the driver s side window. moments later police fired three gas or ferret rounds, shattering the car s windows and forcing the suspect out hands up. the negotiations went on around 19 hours with him. some might ask why so long. and the reason is preservation of life. we re here to preserve everybody s life no matter what they do and we want to get him in
they called for another cop car for the lady up the street. after that, the suspect fled two more blocks. that s where he shot a man and woman sitting inside the car. that woman has since died. the man is still recovering. finally, police were able to corner him where he shot at one police officer in an alleyway. that is where they shot and killed the suspect himself, who police identified as 25-year-old nicholas glen. he left behind a bizarre letter targeting law enforcement officials and specifically targeting one person. police are trying to identify that officer and make sure their safety is a top concern. thank you for that. morgan radford in philadelphia. we are waiting. there is a news conference. we ll go to those microphones where police will perhaps give us more information on this suspect that now remain outstanding. now to a massive fuel spill in alabama. it s causing a gas price spike in the southeast. the governors of alabama,
