In the third of a trio of spring lookbooks this Easter weekend, we ve rounded up ten verdant rooftop gardens including a penthouse garden in Australia and a stepped vegetable garden in Vietnam.
The luxurious garden of this penthouse in Darlinghurst, Sydney, is made up of raised beds filled with indigenous plant, tree and shrub species.
Designed by landscape architect Matt Dillion, the plants were carefully selected to suit harsh rooftop conditions. The garden surrounds a pavilion-inspired penthouse with large windows.
This Mexico City rooftop garden was created as a getaway within a crowded neighbourhood in the bustling city.

Rich historical and cultural values turn ten lighthouses in Vietnam into sought-after destinations to many tourists.
According to the statistics of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, Vietnam is home to 92 lighthouses situated on islands under the nations’ territory.
Co To Lighthouse
Co To Lighthouse, which is located on Co To Island in the northern province of Quang Ninh, is dubbed as the “rooftop” of the island. Climbing up 72 stairs to the top of the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole island with blue sea and sky as far as their eyes can see.

A resort developer in Nha Trang, a beach city in the south-central Vietnamese province of Khanh Hoa, has been permitted to level a hill with over 64 metric tons of dynamite, which sparked concerns among residents living nearby.
Residents in Thanh Phat and Thanh Dat Villages in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City have sent letters to local authorities to express their complaint and worry about the implementation of the Haborizon resort and villa project on Hon Ro Mountain.
In 2012, Tobias Briffa landed in Vietnam with one suitcase and bags of optimism. He found work at an agency in Ho Chi Minh City, where he collaborated with the world’s most influential brands, namely Coca-Cola and Unilever.
But he quickly grew uninspired. Tobias felt large corporations were a barrier for true and meaningful creativity. It was this sense of restlessness that brought three of his friends together to set up their own boutique ad agency. But the experience was not dissimilar. They realised it was time for something new altogether.
“We came together and decided to invest the money we made from advertising in setting up a small home-brewing project. Originally, we considered different products, but we stuck with beer because Luis, one of my business partner’s brothers, was planning to come back to Vietnam and join us on our business endeavours. He was both very passionate about home-brewing and a biochemist,” Tobias, 33, says from his home in Ho Chi Minh City.

International Living points out that Vietnamâs âexceptionally low cost of livingâ is a huge draw. In
A Better Life for Half the Price, author Tim Leffel notes that Vietnam is âone of the best values in the world for travelers, especially when it comes to lodging and food,â making it a great value for residents, too. Leffel says that when it comes to apartments, almost anywhere in the country, âyou can find something nice and reasonably roomy in the range of $300 to $800 a month.â
Indeed, Neil Varden, the CEO of CabinZero, moved to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC or commonly still referred to as Saigon) from the United Kingdom three years ago, reports, âThe cost of living is great. I can live like a king without spending much money, to be honest.â
